Terms of Service

Version based on docs/TOS-v2.md

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Recipaster, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

Recipaster lets users collect and store recipes privately, and create and publish recipes that may be visible to other users.

Private content is visible only to the account owner. Public recipes are visible to other users.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of all content you upload, import, create, or publish, including recipes, images, and other media.

For private content, you grant Recipaster a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display content solely to provide the service to you.

For public content, you grant Recipaster a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and promote that content within the service and related marketing.

This public-content license ends when content is deleted, except to the extent already shared or retained in backups.

5. Responsibilities for public content

If you publish content, you confirm that you own the content or have necessary rights, and that publication does not infringe rights or violate law.

You are solely responsible for content you publish.

6. Imports and private media

Imports from external sources are initiated by you.

Imported media is stored privately unless you explicitly choose to publish related content.

7. Prohibited content

You may not publish content that infringes intellectual property, is illegal, promotes violence or hate, involves sexual exploitation, or is fraudulent or misleading.

Recipaster may remove content that violates these rules.

8. Copyright complaints

If you believe content infringes your copyright, contact support with identification of the work, the allegedly infringing content, your contact info, and a good-faith statement of unauthorized use.

Recipaster may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing content and notify the posting user.

9. Moderation and removal

Recipaster may remove public content, suspend or terminate accounts, and investigate violations to protect users or comply with legal obligations.

Recipaster is not obligated to monitor content proactively.

10. Termination

Recipaster may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or applicable law.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recipaster is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

13. Changes to these terms

Recipaster may update these terms from time to time. Material changes may require renewed acceptance.
