•Classic Swedish meatballs served with creamy brown gravy and smooth mashed potatoes. Traditionally accompanied by lingonberries and pickled cucumber.

1 pcs yellow onion
100 g breadcrumbs
1 1/2 dl milk
1 pcs egg
15 g coarse mustard

1 pcs dried oregano

30 g flour
4 dl beef stock
1 dl cream
soy sauce

Mashed Potatoes
1 kg floury potatoes
50 g butter
1 1/2 dl warm milk
salt
white pepper

Preparation: Make sure you have all ingredients ready before you start cooking.

Combine breadcrumbs, milk, egg, and mustard in a bowl.

150 ml milk
1 pcs egg
15 g coarse mustard

Let sit for 600 seconds to hydrate and bind.

Add grated onion, ground meat, salt, white pepper, allspice, and optional oregano.

Mix gently until just combined.

Form small meatballs.

Heat butter and oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Fry meatballs in batches until well browned and cooked through.

Transfer to plate and reserve pan drippings.

Melt butter in same pan.

Whisk in flour and cook briefly.

Simmer until thickened.

Add cream and soy sauce.

Return meatballs to sauce and simmer gently.

Peel potatoes and boil in salted water until tender.
